Walter A. Kearney… a
man of faith, a man of character and a man of
business. It comes as no surprise that a man with
this great of substance started with such humble
beginnings. As the only boy growing up in a single
parent home with two older sisters, he learned the
importance of responsibility, integrity and
aggressiveness. His mother, understanding the
magnitude of a boy having male role models decided
that it was necessary for him to grow up in the
church. She knew that at church he would be
surrounded with godly men that would confirm her
teachings on priorities and strong work ethics.
Walter, not comprehending his destiny, grabbed a
hold of as much information as he possibly could.
He was an eager learner; always ready and willing to
apply his new education to practical life
situations.
His energy to strive
for excellence caused him to begin his career as a
teenager. While other students were worrying about
dances, proms and games; he was focused on building
his business. Walter was a balanced person with
priorities. He believed in working hard and
rewarding himself with playing hard. He understood
that he had to have discipline in his life. This
discipline landed him a stellar job at a reputable
advertising agency in Detroit, Michigan known as
Campau Advertising. Walter, prudent in his business
dealings, saw his rising potential with this
company. He entered the agency as a Production Aide
and within a three year period he had elevated to
managing million dollar accounts such as, Kmart,
Revlon, Rite Aid, Meijer, Lustra Silk and many
others. His responsibilities included negotiating
major contracts, coordinating the production of
major media campaigns and delivering quality
advertising to demanding consumers that caused his
contract's revenues to exceed their expectations.
His account roster became enormous therefore he had
to eventually call upon his gospel connections to
assist in the production of commercials. These
artists and producers included the Winans, Fred
Hammond, BeBe Winans, Thomas Whitfield, Paul "pda"
Allen and eventually J. Moss. Walter eventually
excelled to the second highest position of the
company… Vice President. It was at this level that
Walter broke the ceiling in his mind as he
envisioned an entirely new realm of possibilities.
Thus, giving up a six figure executive job, a
company car and credit card, he set out to realize
his own passion…becoming President and Chief
Executive Officer of his own company.
Walter partnered with
his childhood friend Erik Williams and together they
successfully opened Advantage Management & Booking
company. This road management and booking company
was created to handle the affairs of musicians and
recording artist. Walter always had a heartbeat for
music therefore his new venture was perfect for
him. Even though his company was small, his
reputation for strong business dealings landed him
major management contracts with gospel phenoms such
as, the Winans, Donnie McClurkin., Zion and Special
Gift. Additionally, he began a hit gospel video
show that aired on a major channel with major hosts,
former Miss USA, Carol Gist and the renowned Carvin
Winans.
After Walter mastered
another goal in his life, he was ready to go on to
something fresh. Therefore, keeping in line with
his own genius he partnered with "PDA" in beginning
the now well-known, PAJAM. As is Walter's custom,
he and "PDA" set out to make PAJAM an industry known
name. His flair for negotiations and his special
knack for "getting the job" done set PAJAM on a road
to success that is continuously being uncovered.
This duo eventually became a trio, when Walter (now
known as "Stone":because people can count on him to
finish a job) and "PDA" brought on their new artist
and eventually partner, J. Moss. The J. Moss
element added another level of success to their
company. Together, these men have made some
incredible accomplishments… they have broken down
some tough barriers and now they are going on to
becoming one of the best known names in the music
industry… PAJAM! |
